About Me

I was born and raised in Long Beach, California. I studied drawing and painting in high school, and found a passion for Art History in my junior year Advanced Placement class. Art History is the perfect intersection of cultural context and human creation. I truly fell in love when I began to view art as a shout into the massive void of history - a proclamation of existence.

The day before my eighteenth birthday, I flew across the country and moved to Minneapolis, where I would live and study at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities for two years. The frozen tundra was an ominous place to a California girl who was lucky enough to move to the Midwest for the coldest winter in 20 years. It was there, in the frozen days and nights, that I discovered the excitement of promotional marketing.

After working for a year as a Lead Brand Ambassador, I was offered the position of Marketing Director at the Minnesota Daily, the largest student-run newspaper in the nation. I worked to manage the appointed budget and supervised fifteen employees. I planned and executed promotional events, focus groups, and grass roots marketing on campus. I initiated a successful, inaugural fashion show to promote the newspaper's Fashionista column, and tripled participation for the company's annual charity 5k race. Additionally served as an Administrative Representative for the Board of Directors. This role allowed me to coordinate a Student Fees allocation presentation, resulting in the approval of 97% of our proposed funding!

After an amazing adventure, I decided to return to Long Beach to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Art History. I currently work at a local gymnastics gym where I have taken on the role of Office Manager - a position that allows me to learn about membership management, program administration, and social media marketing.

I deeply enjoy succulent cultivation, oil painting, and cooking garlic-centric dishes. I am developing a love for art criticism and hope to continue my creative writing as well.
